7 Morning Rituals to Make You Healthier and Happier!
Here at Superfood Bakery, we love our morning routine! Living an entrepreneurial lifestyle calls for some discipline, as well as for some healthy rituals to prepare us for the joys and troubles (they happen too!) of the day ahead.
Today we'd love to share with you the morning routine we swear by!
1. Wash your face with cold water (or use an ice-cube!).
This simple trick does wonders to your skin, leaving it glowing and supple. Perfect before you apply your favourite moisturiser!
2. Scrape your tongue.
This ancient Ayurvedic recommendation is something you will keep doing once you start! Not only it helps you get rid of the morning breath, but also remove the bacteria that built up overnight, making sure you don't eat it with your breakfast (yuck!).
3. Drink a glass of warm water.
You may or may not add lemon, but this one glass is very important to get all your internal systems going and prepare your body for the day.
4. Move a little.
Whether it's a 7am HIIT class at your local gym or a 5 minute series of push-up, sit-ups and jumping jacks, moving your frame in the morning will get your blood flowing and will lift your mood!
5. Meditate for a few moments.
Take a few minutes to close your eyes and sit in silence. It's a great time to ponder what you are grateful for and set the intention for the day.
6. Have your favorite breakfast.
As much as we would prefer having our Morning Dreamers pancakes with some maple syrup and blueberries every morning, sometimes we simply don't have the time for it. So we go for a quick and healthy breakfast (our top breakfast choices are porridge or yogurt with nut butter).
7. Have a cup of your favorite morning drink.
Some may debate the benefits of a cup of coffee in the morning, but you know what? If it makes you happy, then have it! If it's a cup of green tea that gets you going - even better!
This may sound time-consuming, but unless you do a 1-hour gym session in the morning, the above set of tips should take you no more than 25 minutes to do!
